Contest to Scout for Knowledge and Innovations of Rural People in Asia
IFAD's contest in Asia to scout for best example of local knowledge and innovations of the rural poor concluded with three winners. A traditional dyeing technique from China, a Vietnamese farmer whose observation that the strong scent a certain flower protects longan fruits from bats as the smell overpowers that of the fruit and an Indian farmer who led his village to forest protection, were the winners.
