In January 2009, India Country Office of IFAD held its first gender mainstreaming workshop which for the first time brought together the gender focal points of various projects in India to share their knowledge as well as formulate a plan for further work on gender mainstreaming and network building. ENRAP also facilitated a session on networking. Further to this a Gender Core Group was nominated and formed comprising of project staff, ICO and ENRAP representatives to chart out a plan for continued activities and network building. This second workshop would provide opportunity after the six months to build on gender mainstreaming activities of the India projects and come together to learn, share experiences and review plans.
